Data Publications

The data obtained by the banks and financial institutions other than banks are published in an aggregated way so that the particular institution to which the data belong shall not be detected, which is in accordance with the data privacy regulations pursuant to the Banking Law and official statistics. It is possible to access data on the basis of banks and institutions from the external auditing reports.

BRSA establishes check and control mechanisms at a reasonable level in order to ensure the accuracy of the data included in the bulletins. Yet, BRSA does not provide a definitive assurance as to the accuracy and integrity of the financial tables that are sent by the institutions based on temporary and tentative data. In addition, BRSA does not accept any form of liability arising from the use of such tables that are published for the sake of providing information.

The data published in the bulletins are constructed through the reporting sets taken by BRSA for the purposes of regulation and supervision through the related legislation. Therefore, there may be differences arising from different reasons such as classification minimally, grouping and differentiation in the subgroups.

To illustrate, while the interest accrual and rediscounts are depicted over the related items in the financial tables that have been supervised by external auditing as declared by the banks, these elements are classified separately in the tables published by BRSA.

TRY column refers to Turkish Lira currency as of end of the period and FX column refers to foreign currency, corresponding to Turkish Lira counterpart of the balance as of the end of the period.

The publishing calendar is notified to the public with prior notice. It is prepared in line with the National Data Publication Calendar at the beginning of each year and is published on the internet webpage of BRSA under the section of Data / Data Publishing Calendar.

The updates in the bulletins are declared both in the news bulletins and also in the metadata.

There is advanced presentation option in the bulletins. It is possible to access the data on the basis of institution party and in series from the related tab.

The data are published in conformity to the revision policies. Unless there is a significant change, the data are updated during the preparing stage of the data pertaining to the subsequent month.

Information based on period that is included in any issue of the bulletins may be subject to change in the consecutive issues following the updates that could arise for several various reasons.

BRSA is entitled to alter all the tables included in the bulletins, either partially or completely, or to add supplementary information therein without prior notice.

As stated on the page that provides explanation on the publications that have the currency option, if the currency unit is chosen as US dollar, the conversion is conducted by using the foreign currency-purchasing exchange rate pertaining to the related end of period for the banks and other institutions.

The data are aggregated according to the classification under the headlines that are in the section of Institutions / Banks on the BRSA internet website.

The daily bulletin is intended to fulfill obtaining of information regarding the banking sector promptly. Thus, it is published in a brief form with summarized bits of information. The values that belong to the last 7 (seven) working days regarding the data presented in the daily bulletin are presented in graphic format. For a longer period of time series, it is recommended that one resort to the data of the weekly bulletin or the monthly bulletin.

In order to inform the public and all related parties, various reports are published by the BRSA regarding the banking sector.
